Le but du jeu consiste à battre la banque (le croupier) avec deux cartes dont l'addition est supérieure à ses cartes. Par ailleurs, étant donné qu’il ne s’agit pas d’une récompense pécuniaire, ce sont les gains qu’elle génère qui sont soumis au wager.
